Job Title: Structural Engineering Team Lead

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement and monitor company policies, ensuring compliance and adherence to industry standards.
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest industry trends, codes, and client standards, and share your knowledge with the team.
  • Lead the technical and operational activities of the structural section, including staff development, profitability, morale, quality control, and marketing support.
  • Schedule and coordinate work performed within the section, establishing priorities and assignments for staff.
  • Monitor scope of work and scope changes within the section, ensuring timely completion and quality delivery.
  • Conduct interviews and provide mentoring for new staff members, advancing their skill level through training, education, and experience.
  • Plan, direct, and monitor structural aspects of large multidiscipline projects or medium-sized projects with high technical complexity.
  • Prepare and review project budgets and scopes for the structural section, tracking budget status and ensuring timely completion.
  • Foster coordination with other discipline groups, facilitating effective communication and collaboration.
  • Work closely with Business Class Leads and Structural Section Managers to review workload, project status, and staffing requirements.
  • Conduct schematic, design development, and contract document work sessions at project sites, collaborating with other Project Managers, technical professionals, and disciplines.
  • Implement QA/QC procedures, perform QAQC, and execute training for personnel as established.
  • Be involved in marketing planning, proposals, and interviews, contributing to the company's growth and success.
  • Perform other duties as needed, ensuring the team's success and the company's growth.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • California Professional Engineer license or ability to obtain within 12 months.
  • Licensed California Structural Engineer (SE).
  • Experience leading teams delivering structural design projects.
  • Previous experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm.
  • Strong knowledge of structural modeling software, such as SAP or other 3D analysis and finite element modeling software.
  • Prior leadership, business development, and mentoring experience.
  • Located in Northern California.
  • Experience with ASCE 41 seismic retrofit design.
  • Experience with ACI 350 water-containing structures design.
  • Experience with OSHPD Projects.
  • Experience with structural condition assessment, repair, and rehabilitation.
  • Experience and/or interest in sustainable design/LEED.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience.
  • Professional registration, license, or certification may be required based on role.
  • Strong communication and listening skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments.
  • Good leadership and organizational skills.

The expected compensation range for this position is $112,266 to $160,380 annually, depending on skills, experience, education, and geographical location.
