Job Overview

Summary: Ohm Systems is in search of a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to deliver expert engineering guidance and leadership in high voltage electrical systems, safety protocols, and operational excellence. The successful candidate will possess a robust background in electrical engineering, particularly in high voltage systems, and will have a proven track record in managing electrical projects, troubleshooting, and driving continuous improvement initiatives within a manufacturing setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert engineering support and leadership for high voltage electrical systems and safety initiatives within the organization.
  • Assist maintenance, operations, and engineering teams across production sectors, delivering technical solutions to design, process, and application challenges.
  • Lead and execute continuous improvement projects, emphasizing problem-solving and technical solutions.
  • Plan, manage, and implement capital projects, major repairs, and maintenance tasks, ensuring alignment with operational goals.
  • Deliver electrical engineering expertise across all manufacturing and operational areas.
  • Supervise maintenance personnel, ensuring adherence to safe work practices, proper use of personal protective equipment, and compliance with safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with external vendors on electrical design and support activities.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with team members to identify challenges, clarify requirements, and facilitate effective solutions.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical engineering within a manufacturing context.
  • Expertise in industrial high voltage and 480VAC power distribution, transformers, automation, process control systems, drives, and PLCs.
  • Experience in leading and managing electrical projects, including design, installation, and commissioning.
  • Ability to oversee maintenance operations and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 10 years of experience with a comprehensive understanding of electrical systems and manufacturing processes.
  • 5 years of experience in high voltage electrical equipment, design, maintenance, and failure analysis.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar CAD software.
  • Experience in estimating, justifying, managing, and executing capital projects.
  • Extensive knowledge of industrial electrical power and control systems, including transformers, switchgear, substations, and relays.
  • Familiarity with electrical engineering safety standards, codes, and specifications.
  • Strong background in maintenance and reliability engineering, with knowledge of world-class manufacturing methodologies such as lean manufacturing, JIT, SPC, and TQM.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong problem-solving and innovative thinking capabilities.
