ESL Instructor for Adult Life Skills and Employment Program

We are seeking a dedicated ESL instructor to join our team at the New American Association of Massachusetts. As an ESL instructor, you will play a vital role in empowering adult learners with essential life skills and employment knowledge.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will be responsible for teaching in-person ESOL classes to adult learners, focusing on conversation, pronunciation, reading, listening, and writing skills. The instructor will emphasize employment, life skills, health and wellness, U.S. culture and social norms, and parent-school communications. Active conversation practice is encouraged.
Responsibilities- Teach in-person ESOL classes to adult learners (approximately 6-12 students) in reading, writing, conversation/pronunciation, and grammar.
- Attend bi-monthly online staff meetings and occasional online professional development sessions.
- Assess student language skills.
- Create and implement ESL lesson plans using provided textbooks and online resources.
- Facilitate small group conversations.
- Excellent command of the English language.
- Experience in ESOL teaching and demonstrated ability to teach diverse populations and skill levels in one classroom.
- Bachelor's Degree and TESOL/TESL/TEFL certificate.
We offer a competitive salary of $28 per hour and a total of 16.5 hours per week. This position is based in Lowell, Massachusetts, and requires in-person work. Candidates must reside within commuting distance.
