Job Overview

Galloway Boys Trucking is seeking a skilled Logistics Coordinator to join our team. As a Logistics Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in coordinating and optimizing the transportation of materials using our dump trucking fleet.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and Schedule Dump Trucking Operations: Manage logistics operations to meet project requirements and deadlines.
  • Monitor and Track Material Shipments: Ensure on-time pickups and deliveries by tracking material shipments.
  • Communicate Effectively with Drivers: Provide instructions and address any issues during transportation.
  • Collaborate with Internal Teams: Optimize routes, reduce costs, and enhance overall efficiency by working with internal teams.
  • Ensure Compliance: Adhere to transportation regulations, safety protocols, and company policies.
  • Resolve Transportation-Related Issues: Promptly address transportation-related issues to uphold customer satisfaction.
  • Utilize Logistics Software: Track shipments, manage inventory, and generate relevant reports using logistics software.
  • Provide Excellent Customer Service: Address inquiries and offer updates on material shipments.
  • Collaborate with Third-Party Carriers: Secure additional transportation resources when necessary.
  • Analyze Transportation Data: Recommend strategies for continuous improvement in dump trucking and brokering services.

Qualifications:

  • Proven Experience: Proven experience in logistics coordination within the dump trucking or construction materials industry.
  • Strong Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with Transportation Regulations: Familiarity with transportation regulations, especially in the construction materials sector.
  • Proficient in Logistics Software: Proficient in using logistics software and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Knowledge of Route Optimization: Knowledge of route optimization and efficiency improvement strategies.
  • Education and Certification: Degree and/or certification in a related field (preferred).
