Job Overview

MiRus LLC is a leading medical device company focused on designing and manufacturing innovative cardiovascular, orthopedic, and spinal systems. We are seeking a highly skilled Cardiovascular Delivery System Engineer to join our team.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering and experience with 3-D CAD modeling and drafting. Familiarity with injection molding design and knowledge of medical materials related to catheters is a plus.

Responsibilities will include working with cross-functional project teams to design, develop, and test the delivery system for our transcatheter valve replacement system. This will involve communication with surgeons and sales consultants to gain an understanding of clinical issues and define design parameters.

Key tasks will include:

  • Assisting in specification development, design conceptualization, and concept prototyping
  • Source vendors for components and sub-assemblies
  • Creating component and assembly drawings for manufacturing
  • Developing fixtures, tooling, and processes for manufacturing of the final product
  • Performing testing of prototypes for design evaluation
  • Assisting in the development and execution of design verification and validation plans and activities

Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks and manage a varied workload are essential. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are also required, as well as the ability to interface effectively with peers, cross-functional project teams, and management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Biomedical Engineering
  • 3+ years of relevant catheter design experience
  • Experience with 3-D CAD modeling and drafting, preferably SolidWorks
  • Familiarity with injection molding design a plus
  • Knowledge of medical materials related to catheters
  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) proficiency
  • Ability to effectively communicate concepts, ideas, and knowledge to other team members, cross-functional teams, customers, and suppliers
  • Experience with FDA Medical Device guidelines
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced start-up environment
