Job Summary

Power System Engineering is seeking a highly skilled Substation Engineer to join our team. As a Substation Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering expert consulting services to our clients, including electrical substation design, project management, system design support, and operational assistance.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and guide electrical design for projects
• Engage with clients and team members to ensure precise, top-quality, and on-time project deliverables within budget
• Support substation design services by industry standards and established PSE guidelines
• Coordinate with construction crews to install facilities per the design
• Conduct inspections, provide construction supervision, and/or uphold contractors' adherence to PSE designs, contract documents, and industry standards
• Responsible for quality control and technical review of projects and the work of others to ensure compliance with engineering principles, company standards, client requirements, and related specifications

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering (BSEE) or a related field
• Mid-level or greater; greater than five years of experience in the utility industry, specifically in engineering and design of electrical substations
• Professional Engineer license or ability to be licensed in states where PSE conducts business
• Experience leading design projects
• Knowledge and skills in power system planning, protection, design, and operations
• Working knowledge of computer software, including AutoCAD, MS Excel, and MS Word
• Working knowledge of applicable NEC, IEEE, and ANSI standards and electric codes
