POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the Senior Director of Facility Operations, the Facilities Coordinator is tasked with managing the daily operations of our facilities. This role encompasses resource management, adherence to safety regulations, and the creation of a positive work atmosphere. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of organizational, administrative, and interpersonal skills to effectively address the multifaceted requirements of our facilities.
The Facilities Coordinator is essential in ensuring the efficient operation and upkeep of all properties under the San Diego LGBT Community Center's stewardship. Responsibilities include overseeing maintenance activities in line with organizational policies and industry standards. Hands-on maintenance experience is essential.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Facility Maintenance:
- Schedule and coordinate routine maintenance, repairs, and inspections.
- Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards across all facilities.
- Act as the primary contact for external vendors and service specialists.
- Manage landscaping and upkeep of grounds.
- Lead maintenance and inspections at various properties.
- Space Management:
- Maximize the efficient use of space within all facilities.
- Coordinate office layouts and relocations as directed.
- Maintain precise records of space allocations.
- Security and Safety:
- Develop and enforce security measures to protect the facility and its occupants.
- Conduct regular safety assessments and mitigate potential risks.
- Participate as a member of the Safety Committee.
- Vendor Management:
- Communicate with external vendors and service providers.
- Gather and assess vendor proposals for services.
- Ensure compliance with service level agreements.
- Administrative Support:
- Assist in planning and executing facility-related projects.
- Maintain financial records related to facility expenditures and assist with budgeting.
- Address inquiries from facility staff and tenants.
- Communication:
- Effectively communicate with employees, management, and external stakeholders.
- Facilitate regular meetings for facility updates with the Senior Director of Facility Operations.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education/Experience: Minimum of 2 years in facilities maintenance or related fields, including hands-on experience in maintenance tasks.
- Professional Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with diverse groups.
- Personal Skills: Friendly and approachable demeanor; comfortable discussing facility maintenance with staff and tenants.
- Technology Skills: Proficient in PC/Windows environments and Microsoft Office applications.
- Language Skills: Fluent in English.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education/Experience: 2 years of experience in facilities coordination and knowledge of building systems.
- Professional Skills: Experience working with diverse populations.
- Language Skills: Fluency in Spanish is highly desirable.
