Job Summary:

The Diagnostic Imaging Specialist performs medical imaging examinations under the direction of a physician at Intermountain Health. This role requires a strong understanding of medical imaging procedures and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Access, manage, and update patient medical records through the Hospital Electronic Medical Record Information System.

Accurately access patient medical records, input physicians' orders, and review documentation for ongoing patient care.

Communicate patient records with ancillary hospital services and maintain patient confidentiality as outlined by privacy and HIPAA guidelines.

Educate patients on imaging and safety procedures, including the biological effects of radiation and/or magnetic field protection and safety.

Position patients on imaging tables and utilize immobilization devices as warranted for safety or to obtain optimum views of specified areas of the body.

Administer contrast media orally or intravenously according to Radiologist and/or Pharmacy guidelines.

Monitor patients during procedures through direct contact, two-way voice communication, or through control room windows and/or closed-circuit TV screens.

Requirements:

Associate's degree or diploma from a two-year college or technical school, or six months to one year of related experience and/or training.

Current ARRT certification and Montana State Licensure are required.

Current BLS certification endorsed by the American Heart Association is also required.

Work Environment:

This role is based at St. James Hospital in Butte, Montana, and requires a 36-hour full-time schedule.
