Position Summary:
The Senior Beverage Specialist is tasked with managing the beverage program at The Inn at Little Washington. This role involves crafting an innovative cocktail menu that aligns with our prestigious 3-Star Michelin standards. The Specialist will maintain high operational standards while fostering a supportive and educational environment for team members. Responsibilities include overseeing inventory management, training staff, and ensuring compliance with service standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver exceptional bar service at The Inn at Little Washington
  • Collaborate on the creation of signature cocktails
  • Manage liquor procurement and inventory processes
  • Conduct regular inventory assessments and reporting
  • Ensure adherence to service excellence standards
  • Maintain knowledge of wines and spirits
  • Update and produce accurate beverage menus
  • Lead training sessions for bar staff
  • Design and implement a creative beverage program that meets service standards
  • Develop a mocktail menu for non-alcoholic options
  • Communicate inventory changes to staff
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of bar areas
  • Prepare weekly staff schedules and oversee timecard accuracy
  • Train new employees on company policies and service standards

Additional Duties:
Perform other responsibilities as assigned or required.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Familiarity with standard drink recipes
  • Solid understanding of spirits, wine, and beer
  • Must be at least 21 years old to serve alcohol
  • Previous experience in bartending or cocktail service
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken
  • Experience in fine dining establishments
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in alcohol service training
  • Previous culinary training experience
  • Knowledge of computerized point-of-sale systems

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Capability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs.
  • Ability to bend, reach, and twist regularly
