Job Summary

This position is specifically designed for students who qualify for Federal Work Study. To be eligible, students must check with the Financial Aid office to confirm their qualification status.

The Student Assistant will serve as the primary point of contact for customers of the LakerCard Center, providing exceptional customer support and answering customer inquiries. Additionally, the student assistant will assist with monitoring equipment around campus, including SmartPrint and Vending machines. The role will also involve assisting with marketing efforts for various departments within Auxiliary Services and participating in outreach events and special activities such as New Student Orientation.

Responsibilities
  • Provide front-line customer support for the LakerCard Center, answering general questions and creating ID cards.
  • Offer troubleshooting services for Vending and Smartprint services.
  • Provide general support for the LakerCard Center staff.
  • Perform administrative duties such as filing confidential documents and office reports.
  • Assist in developing marketing strategies to promote products, services, and events within Auxiliary Services.
Requirements
  • Customer-service oriented
  • Ability to work some evenings and occasional Saturdays
  • Display honesty and integrity
  • Have a 2.5 GPA
  • Experience with Windows and Microsoft Office
  • Experience in cash handling, customer service skills, and general computer knowledge
  • Have good listening and communication skills
  • Experience using social media (Instagram, Snapchat, and Facebook)
