Job SummaryThis position is open to currently enrolled Clayton State University students who qualify for Federal Work Study. The Office of the Provost and Vice-President of Academic Affairs supports all programs within Academics and those areas that directly support academics. As a student assistant, you will be the first point of contact for students, faculty, staff, and visitors, requiring professionalism and excellent communication skills.
Responsibilities- Meet and greet students, faculty, staff, and visitors upon entering the office
- Act as receptionist and perform clerical duties, including copying, collating, and stapling documents, answering multi-line telephones, faxing documents, filing, sorting and distributing department mail, and preparing word processing documents, spreadsheets, and databases
- Develop skills in communication, professionalism, human relations, community and global awareness, and maintaining a code of ethics
- Excellent customer service skills
- Excellent telephone skills
- Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently, both orally and in writing
- Confidentiality
- Ability to organize and prioritize effectively and efficiently
- Intermediate computer skills, including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases
- Ability to operate copier, printer, and fax machines
- Attention to detail
