Position Title: Technical Lead/ SME Application Developer

Position Overview:

  • Guide a team of Java developers to enhance analytics within the CBP IT framework.
  • Architect and develop micro-service platforms to support AI/ML models, deployable both on-premises and in cloud environments.
  • Engage in hands-on development of new services and tools.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and sustain data-centric analytic applications utilizing DevOps and Agile methodologies.
  • Pinpoint technical solutions for business challenges and work alongside stakeholders to transition applications to a hybrid cloud setting.
  • Create new code, perform testing, and document application use cases.
  • Collaborate with project teams and provide mentorship to junior developers.

Qualifications:

  • Proficient full-stack development skills in Java and Object-Oriented Design.
  • Experience with the Spring framework, enhancing performance for service platforms, and AWS.
  • Practical experience with Apache Spark, Kafka, or Storm.
  • Familiarity with Unix/Linux, Agile practices, and application IDE tools.
  • Capability to lead and mentor development teams.

Preferred Experience:

  • Familiarity with NoSQL databases and Oracle SQL/PLSQL.
  • Understanding of Atlassian tools, continuous integration, and Agile Scrum methodologies.

Educational Background:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related discipline with relevant technical experience.

Clearance Requirements:

  • U.S. Citizenship is mandatory.
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a DHS/CBP Clearance.

Physical Requirements:

  • Office-based work, primarily sedentary with occasional movement within the office.
