About the Role

Pangiam is seeking a highly skilled Senior Java Software Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing JEE software applications, working with users in an Agile development approach, and presenting solutions at formal and informal design reviews.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement JEE software applications
  • Use modern software engineering tools and methodologies, including Eclipse and Atlassian Products (Jira, Confluence)
  • Work with users in an Agile development approach to understand requirements, elicit feedback, and refine solutions through demonstrations
  • Present solutions at formal and informal design reviews and document the design according to the Government's system lifecycle methodology

Requirements

Candidates must have 3-5+ years of experience with a technical degree in a related field, such as computer science, electrical engineering, etc. Alternatively, 7-8+ years of experience without a technical degree in a related field is also acceptable.

Proficiency with Java, experience developing web applications utilizing Java Enterprise Edition (J2EE), XML, or Web Services at an enterprise level, and knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript are required. Proficiency with Spring Boot and microservice architecture, as well as understanding of basic Spring dependency injection concepts and key annotations, are also necessary.

Preferred Skills

Experience with ORM frameworks such as JPA and Hibernate, SQL, and React, Angular, NodeJS are preferred. Additionally, knowledge of AWS (EC2, S3, etc.), Kubernetes/Konvoy, Swagger/OpenAPI, Web services, Unix/Linux, and Docker are a plus.

Desired Qualities

Developing 100% automating unit tests, Agile development approach, ability to work in a high-pressured, tight-deadline environment, and superior written and oral communication skills are essential. Multitasking efficiently and progressively, working comfortably in an ever-changing data environment, and excellent verbal/written communication and problem-solving skills are also required.

Education

A Bachelor's in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related field with applicable experience is required. Applicable work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Security Clearance

Must be a US Citizen. Qualified applicants may be subject to a security investigation and must meet minimum qualifications for access to classified information.

COVID-19 Vaccination
