DEI Consultant Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled DEI Consultant to join our team at Securian Financial Group. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing strategies that promote diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and Execute DEI Strategies: Collaborate with business leaders and HR teams to design and implement DEI initiatives that align with our company's objectives and goals.
  • Consult and Partner with Stakeholders: Serve as a subject matter expert to consult and partner with key stakeholders across the enterprise, ensuring that program design mitigates bias and furthers our DEI objectives.
  • Lead the DEI Council: Lead and evolve Securian's DEI Council, comprising key leaders from across our DEI ecosystem, including representatives from each division and the CEO.
  • Share DEI Results: Create processes to effectively share DEI results with HRBPs and business leaders, building awareness and helping business leaders set individual DEI goals.
  • Participate in Cross-Functional Committees: Participate in cross-functional committees, programs, and teams responsible for the development and implementation of HR initiatives.
  • Design and Facilitate Education: Design and facilitate education, presentations, and thought leadership pieces on DEI topics of varying levels of complexity for all levels of the organization.
  • Represent Securian Financial: Represent Securian Financial with multiple external organizations and affiliations.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Four-year degree or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: Minimum of three to five years of strategy development in Human Resources or Diversity, Equity & Inclusion.
  • Skills: Strong project management skills and the ability to manage large, complex projects that include multiple stakeholders and myriad timelines.
  • Communication: Strong communication and interpersonal skills to maintain successful relationships with all levels of associates as well as external constituents.
