Procurement Buyer Role

As a key member of the Finance team, you will be responsible for managing various projects, including reviewing and processing purchase requisitions, evaluating supplier contracts, and developing strong working relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Purchase Requisition Management: Review and process purchase requisitions to ensure compliance with organizational requirements, including proper documentation, currency, and payment terms.
  • Supplier Contract Evaluation: Evaluate supplier contracts to ensure compliance with legal requirements and promote established organizational policies and procedures for vendor engagement.
  • Order Management: Confirm that modifications and changes to existing orders are properly documented and processed.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Develop and promote strong working relationships with all internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
  • Proposal and Quotation Analysis: Assist with obtaining and analyzing proposals or quotations for consumables, equipment, and services for stakeholders.
  • Purchase Order Management: Partner with internal customers to expedite purchase requisitions and purchase orders when required.
  • Supply Chain Disruption Management: Properly escalate any known supply chain disruptions, order discrepancies, or contract matters for internal review and remediation.
  • Invoice Resolution: Support internal stakeholders with invoice resolution matters and purchase order creation.
  • System Enhancement: Evaluate and test system enhancements for new or existing company platforms, partnering in the implementation, roll-out, and training to ensure success.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Generate reports to monitor purchasing activity by category, goods receipts, and vendor spend.
Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree, major in Finance or a related subject.
  • Experience: 3+ years of experience within the field and a similar position is required. Experience with Laboratory Consumables, Capital Equipment, IT, and Travel Categories preferred.
  • Skills: Extreme attention to detail, ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced/changing environment, excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to collaborate and work together as part of a team, and ability to independently identify, research, and resolve issues.
