Job Summary

The Senior Supplier Specialist plays a critical role in the Procurement & Property department, supporting Draper's multidisciplinary teams of engineers and program staff. This position is responsible for evaluating and monitoring Draper's supply chain to identify and manage risk before onboarding new suppliers and throughout the supplier lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and monitor Draper's supply chain to identify and manage risk
  • Assist in the development of processes to manage third-party risk, support vendor relationships, and collect, evaluate, assess, manage, and report on supplier risks
  • Follow established procedures, practices, policies, and Federal/State regulations to execute activities associated with vendor onboarding compliance
  • Conduct reviews of existing and new suppliers, ensuring adequacy of vendor documentation, assessing risk, onboarding, and updating supplier records as needed
  • Maintain and execute an annual renewal process for supplier documentation
  • Conduct continuous reviews of state and federal policies, mandates, and vendor publications related to vendor management procedures and recommend changes as needed
  • Support the selection and onboarding process for major sourcing efforts
  • Maintain a structured internal governance framework to ensure effective oversight of vendor risk and procurement compliance
  • Identify potential compliance gaps to Vendor Management Lead and Small Business Compliance Specialist
  • Maintain knowledge of business, products, and systems to ensure effective use of vendor and procurement services
Requirements
  • Familiarity with industry cybersecurity compliance standards such as DoD, NIST, and others
  • Able to handle multiple assignments and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to build relationships with cross-functional and external stakeholders
  • Able to quickly understand processes and ensure adherence to the same
  • Able to perform tasks in a timely and well-organized manner with limited oversight
  • Possess excellent problem-solving and communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiarity with PeopleSoft preferred
Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in Business or related field of study is required. 0-2 years of relevant vendor management, technology, risk, business, or a related field experience.
