Job Overview

The Senior Data Scientist will be part of a small team working in a secure facility in northern Virginia. They will collaborate closely with NGA experts, SETA contractors, reservist SMEs, and other NGA contractors to develop capabilities supporting the Motion GEOINT Tradecraft Modernization project.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect and analyze data from multiple sources to identify trends and gain valuable insights.
  • Communicate findings and recommendations to senior leadership across the organization.
  • Develop strategies to locate and collect new data, explore and mine data from various angles, and determine its meaning.
  • Present data findings to both business and IT leaders to inform how the organization approaches and meets the challenges of an evolving customer base and changing marketplace.
  • Identify new uses for existing data sources, design and build new data processes, and construct large, complex data sets.
  • Conduct statistical modeling and experiment design, and test and validate predictive models.
  • Develop web prototypes and perform data visualization.
  • Conduct scalable data research on and off the cloud.
  • Design and implement customized algorithms to solve analytical problems with incomplete data sets and automate processes for efficiently producing scale models.
  • Collaborate with database engineers and other scientists to develop, refine, and scale data management and analytics procedures, systems, workflows, best practices, and other issues.
  • Implement new or enhanced software to access and handle data more efficiently.
  • Train the data management team on new or updated procedures.
  • Develop and implement quality procedures.
  • Ensure regular and reliable attendance on a full-time basis.
  • Exhibit professional behavior with both internal and external business associates that reflects positively on the company and aligns with the company's policies and practices.
  • Embody AEVEX's cultural values and align daily actions with department goals and company culture.
Qualifications & Competencies
  • Bachelor's Degree or Higher in a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience.
  • Active TS/SCI DoD Clearance.
  • Leadership and integration skills.
  • Demonstrated advanced application of knowledge and skills in the field.
  • Fully capable of meeting all services required without direction.
  • Capable of providing direction to lower-level employees and performing quality control and quality assurance checks on other employees' work.
  • May provide oversight of fellow Contractor employees from their own company.
  • Expected to provide advice to Government leadership on processes, procedures, technology, and items of interest.
  • Expected to lead collaboration across NGA and IC analysts in the performance of services.
  • Provide senior-level support to NGA office-level leadership.

AEVEX Aerospace provides a competitive compensation package. The salary range for this position is $220,000 - $232,000 USD.
