Job Overview

The Senior Data Scientist will work closely with NGA experts, Systems Engineering and Technical Assistance (SETA) contractors, reservist SMEs, and other NGA contractors to develop capabilities supporting the Motion GEOINT Tradecraft Modernization project.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect and analyze statistics and information from multiple sources to identify trends and gain maximum insight.
  • Communicate informed conclusions and recommendations across the organization's leadership structure.
  • Strategize and identify opportunities to locate and collect new data, explore and mine data from various angles, and determine its meaning.
  • Communicate data findings to business and IT leaders to influence how the organization approaches and meets business challenges.
  • Finding and recommending new uses for existing data sources, designing and building new data processes, and building large, complex data sets.
  • Conducting statistical modeling and experiment design, testing and validating predictive models.
  • Building web prototypes and performing data visualization.
  • Conducting scalable data research on and off the cloud.
  • Developing customized algorithms to solve analytical problems with incomplete data sets and implementing automated processes for efficiently producing scale models.
  • Collaborating with database engineers and other scientists to develop, refine, and scale data management and analytics procedures.
  • Implementing new or enhanced software designed to access and handle data more efficiently.
  • Training the data management team on new or updated procedures.
  • Writing and implementing quality procedures.
Qualifications & Competencies
  • Bachelor's Degree or Higher in a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience.
  • Active TS/SCI DoD Clearance.
  • Leading, integrating, defining tasks, validating.
  • Demonstrating advanced application of knowledge and skills in the field and having demonstrated this knowledge and skill in previous work.
  • Fully capable of meeting all services required without direction.
  • Capable of providing direction to lower-level employees and of performing quality control and quality assurance checks on other employees' work.
  • May provide oversight of fellow Contractor employees from their own company.
  • Expected to provide advice to Government leadership on processes, procedures, technology, and items of interest.
  • Expected to lead collaboration across NGA and IC analysts in the performance of services.
  • Provide senior-level support to NGA office-level leadership.

AEVEX Aerospace provides a reasonable range of compensation. Actual compensation is influenced by an array of factors including, but not limited to, skill set, level of experience, and specific location. The range of starting pay for this position is for the listed location only.

Salary Range

$220,000 - $232,000USD
