Job Title: Motion Imagery Data Scientist SME

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Motion Imagery Data Scientist SME to lead a small team in a SCIF in the northern Virginia area. The successful candidate will work closely with applicable NGA offices, Systems Engineering and Technical Assistance (SETA) contractors, reservist SMEs, and other NGA contractors to develop AI/ML capabilities supporting the Motion GEOINT Tradecraft Modernization project.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect and analyze statistics and information from multiple sources to identify trends and gain maximum insight.
  • Communicate informed conclusions and recommendations across an organization's leadership structure.
  • Strategize and identify unique opportunities to locate and collect new data, explore and mine data from various angles, and determine its meaning.
  • Communicate data findings to both business and IT leaders to influence how an organization approaches and meets the business challenges of an evolving customer base and changing marketplace.
  • Finds and recommends new uses for existing data sources, designs, modifies, and builds new data processes, and builds large, complex data sets.
  • Conducts statistical modeling and experiment design, and tests and validates predictive models.
  • Builds web prototypes and performs data visualization.
  • Conducts scalable data research on and off the cloud.
  • Develops customized algorithms to solve analytical problems with incomplete data sets and implements automated processes for efficiently producing scale models.
  • Collaborates with database engineers and other scientists to develop, refine, and scale data management and analytics procedures, systems, workflows, best practices, and other issues.
  • Implements new or enhanced software designed to access and handle data more efficiently.
  • Trains the data management team on new or updated procedures.
  • Writes and implements quality procedures.
  • Responsible for exhibiting professional behavior with both internal and external business associates that reflects positively on the company and is consistent with the company's policies and practices.
  • Embodies AEVEX's cultural values and aligns daily actions with department goals and company culture.

Qualifications & Competencies:

  • PhD in a related field.
  • 15+ Years Experience.
  • Active TS/SCI DoD Clearance.
  • Leading, designing solutions to problems, accountable for results.
  • Requires a complete and thorough knowledge of the tradecraft.
  • Has considerable demonstrated experience and has shown skills to be the best of their peers.
  • Ability to oversee others in their work.
  • Must meet all of the services required and provide direction to others in performing these duties.
  • Expected to provide senior-level advice to senior leadership in NGA and the IC at the office and directorate level.
  • Expected to periodically advise organizations outside of the area they are normally providing support.
  • Collaboration is a normal part of their duties.

AEVEX Aerospace provides a reasonable range of compensation. Actual compensation is influenced by an array of factors including, but not limited to, skill set, level of experience, and specific location. The range of starting pay for this position is for the listed location only.
