We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Graduate Financial Aid Counselor to join our team at Iona University. Key Responsibilities- Financial Aid Counseling: Provide expert guidance to graduate students and their families on financial aid eligibility, application procedures, and available financial aid programs.
- Financial Aid Analysis: Analyze financial aid applications to determine a student's financial need and prepare and award financial aid offers.
- Database Management: Utilize databases to gather student information and create and modify awards, ensuring accurate data entry and maintenance.
- Reporting and Compliance: Prepare and maintain narrative and statistical reports, records, and files related to assigned activities, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations and internal policies.
- Subject Matter Expertise: Serve as a subject matter expert and administer the University's Graduate student aid programs, including the Federal Work-Study Program.
- Recruitment and Retention: Participate in recruitment and retention functions, including evening and weekend hours, to support the academic and financial success of graduate students.
- Experience: 2 years of experience in financial aid counseling or a related field.
- Education: Associate's degree required.
- Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
