Can Manufacturing Equipment Specialist

The Can Manufacturing Equipment Specialist plays a crucial role in the maintenance and optimization of front-end machinery utilized in the production of metal beverage containers.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Adhere to all safety protocols and standard operating procedures related to the role, particularly in areas such as Lockout/Tagout, Chemical Handling, and Machine Guarding.
Perform tasks such as installation, adjustment, synchronization, and repair of mechanical components as necessary.
This includes working with large presses, dies, deep drawing equipment, transfer systems, and various electrical and mechanical control devices.
Provide guidance, training, and certification for fellow mechanics as required.Diagnose, adjust, and repair assigned machinery effectively, ensuring optimal performance.
Interpret reports from computer information systems and follow verbal or written instructions to plan and execute repairs, overhauls, and setups for manufacturing equipment.
Establish inspection specifications and utilize precision measuring tools to conduct thorough inspections before, during, and after maintenance activities.
Optimize machine setups considering material types, tolerances, cutting tools, lubricants, and operational speeds.
Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of mechanical principles and machinery involved in repair and maintenance tasks, ensuring proper timing, synchronization, and alignment for efficient operation.
Set up and conduct tests on can manufacturing equipment, identifying and resolving mechanical issues.
Maintain operational efficiency by clearing jams, lubricating, and replenishing necessary materials for equipment.QUALIFICATIONS:
Strong mechanical aptitude with experience using hand tools.
Knowledge of safe handling practices for chemicals and solvents.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in a mechanical or fast-paced manufacturing environment is preferred.
A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to stand for extended periods, exceeding 8 hours daily.
Capability to bend and rotate the body frequently.
Able to lift up to 35 pounds.
Exposure to varying temperatures, vibrations, odors, fumes, and high noise levels.
Skilled in performing fine manipulations with hands.
Willingness to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and night shifts as needed.
