Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate the work of maintenance mechanics to ensure efficient and effective maintenance of facilities.
  • Receive and prioritize maintenance requests, preparing cost estimates and schedules as necessary.
  • Assist in the production of cost estimates for requested projects and ensure compliance with applicable codes and regulations.
  • Inspect facilities regularly to identify deficiencies and ensure timely remediation.
  • Schedule and follow up on preventative maintenance issues with outside vendors or staff.
  • Prepare work areas, including moving furniture and obstructions, and lift and move tools and parts as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with safety rules and regulations, and conduct timely performance evaluations for subordinates.
  • Conduct formal and informal training, coaching, and counseling with subordinates, and recognize and reward superior performers.
  • Interview, select, hire, and retain superior employees, and ensure that employees work safely and follow all safety rules.
Requirements
  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent experience required; trade school training preferred.
  • 2 years of supervisory experience preferred; minimum of 5 years of experience as an electrician, plumber, HVAC mechanic, ground support, maintenance, and/or machinist required.
  • Good math skills, computer proficiency with Microsoft Word, and excellent oral and written communication skills required.
  • Good customer service and leadership skills, problem-solving ability, and ability to work weekends, holidays, and nights as scheduled.
  • Ability to read and evaluate blueprints, operate specialized equipment, and possess knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions.
