Nursing Attendant-Centralized Nursing Service-Evening Shift

We are seeking a skilled Nursing Attendant to join our Centralized Nursing Service team, working evening shifts. As a Nursing Attendant, you will play a vital role in providing direct and indirect patient care to assigned patients under the supervision of the Registered Professional Nurse.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist with Admission/Transfer/Discharge of patients: Orient patient to hospital environment, provide toileting supplies, and assist with removing clothes and safeguarding personal property.
- Conduct patient rounds for toileting, positioning, comfort, safety, and personal needs.
- Provide basic hygiene to patients, including bathing, AM/PM care, mouth care, denture care, hair care, nail and foot care, and shaving.
- Prepare patients for meals, including clearing overbed tables and positioning patients correctly for eating/tube feedings.
- Perform and/or assist patients with simple treatments, such as removing and reapplying SCD wraps and assisting with enema procedures.
- Collect specimens as directed by the RN.
- Inform RN of any audible clinical alarms, such as IV pumps, feeding pumps, ventilators, and bedside monitors.
- Assist with moving, lifting, positioning, and transporting patients.
- Assist with removal and security of patient personal items prior to procedures, as needed.
- Change linen in accordance with policy and as necessary.
- Take and electronically record blood pressure, temperature, pulse, pulse oximetry, and respiration per care level standard and as directed by the RN.
- Weigh patients and electronically record on admission, as ordered, and/or as directed by RN.
- Measure and record oral intake, urinary output, bowel elimination, gastric and other drainage onto I&O record (form or electronic).
- Perform post mortem care.
- Perform safety observations for patients on continuous observation or in restraints, per policy and as directed.
- Report any changes observed in the patients condition to the RN.
- Respond to and meet patient/family needs and customer concerns as soon as possible with compassion and understanding.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Graduate of Certified Nursing Attendant program or minimum 6 months relevant experience.
- BLS or Heartsaver CPR/AED certification required upon entry to the position.
- Working knowledge of English evident in verbal, reading, and writing abilities.
