We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Wildland Fire Suppression Team Lead to join our team at South Weber City. As a key member of our emergency response team, you will be responsible for leading a crew of wildland firefighters in suppressing and managing wildland fires.
Key Responsibilities- Lead a crew of wildland firefighters in suppressing and managing wildland fires
- Develop and implement effective fire suppression and management strategies
- Ensure crew integrity and safety while deployed on emergency incidents
- Enforce City and Department policies and procedures
- Accurately complete all required paperwork for deployments and other projects
- Provide emergency medical care to patients as needed, if qualified and licensed as a Utah EMT, AEMT, or Paramedic
- High school diploma or equivalent
- NWCG Incident Qualification Card (Red Card)
- NWCG Engine Boss Qualified
- Knowledge of standard wildland fire management program requirements, suppression tactics, methods, and procedures
- Ability to perform all tasks, duties, and responsibilities associated with the certifications, licenses, and essential tasks identified herein
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must have a valid state of Utah driver's license
- Must pass a physical ability test and medical screening
- Prior experience as an Engine Boss supervising personnel and equipment
- Utah Emergency Medical Technician license
- Utah Advanced Emergency Medical Technician license
- Utah Paramedic license
This position requires frequent travel and exposure to extreme weather conditions and hazardous materials. The individual must be able to lift and move equipment and/or persons weighing up to 150 pounds and have specific vision abilities, including close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
