Key Responsibilities:
  • Receive and respond to emergency and non-emergency calls via police radio, telephone, and walk-in reports
  • Facilitate radio and telephone emergency transmissions, ensuring timely and accurate communication
  • Work collaboratively with law enforcement personnel to provide support and assistance as needed
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with the university community, local law enforcement agencies, and other stakeholders
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred
  • At least six months of experience in transmitting and receiving messages by radio or clerical work
  • Valid driver's license and ability to obtain certification through the Southeastern Defensive Driving Course
  • Ability to work a 2-2-3 schedule, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Training in a business or clerical-related curriculum in a business school or technical institute
  • College credit or degree in a related field, such as communications, public administration, or criminal justice
