NDT Technician

The Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Technician will perform inspections utilizing various NDT techniques to detect corrosion, defects, or detrimental conditions in accordance with specific written criteria. The Technician will interpret indications and report results per company requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain a safe and healthy environment by adhering to safety standards and practices.
- Perform inspections, interpret results, and report findings.
- Assist Senior Technicians and instruct apprentice personnel on the job.
- Study to gain NDT certifications and assist in gaining hands-on experience in various NDT methods.
- Perform supervisory activities over apprentice personnel as needed.
- Maintain NDT certification and perform inspections for which certified.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Understanding of basic math.
- Ability to work in Microsoft Word and with computers/computerized equipment.
- Ability to read, understand, and communicate in English.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in the NDT field as a certified technician in at least 2 methods.
- Previous certification to Level II in a minimum of one method (PT, MT, UT, RT, ET) preferred.
- Ability to handle chemicals in a safe manner and follow instructions.
- Position based out of a branch or site location.
- Field duties require indoor and outdoor work in a plant atmosphere.
- Interaction with other crew employees, supervisors, and client personnel.
- Working in plant and/or shop areas around production machinery with extreme noise levels.
- Must be able to wear safety equipment as required by the safety department for personal protection.
- Ability to lift and carry 75 pounds.
- Must be able to walk and climb except when performing non-field duties.
- Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing or other communication capabilities.
- Sufficient vision or other powers of observation.
- Sufficient manual dexterity to perform routine office duties.
- Sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes to perform office duties and travel when necessary.
