Our team is seeking a dedicated Certified Peer Support Specialist to join our mental health clinic, Winds of Change. Based in Missoula, MT, this role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.

Job Summary

As a Certified Peer Support Specialist, you will use your lived experience to provide support, encouragement, and empowerment to individuals and groups navigating their recovery journey. Your personal experiences will foster trust and motivation in those seeking help, helping them take an active role in their recovery.

About the Role

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing transportation for clients to their appointments as needed
  • Facilitating recovery-based group activities to support client engagement and growth
  • Evaluating and assessing factors that may hinder clients' ability to live independently or integrate into the community
  • Addressing and improving communication skills in individuals to enhance their interactions
  • Implementing effective skills and strategies to help clients manage their symptoms
  • Assisting individuals in developing and strengthening their social support systems
  • Helping clients adapt skills for various life domains, including home, work, education, leisure, and social activities
  • Providing immediate crisis intervention when necessary to ensure client safety and well-being
  • Completing assigned training sessions, both in-person and through online learning programs
  • Documenting daily activities and progress for each client accurately and promptly
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must possess:

  • Certification as a Peer Support Specialist (or the opportunity to obtain certification through Winds of Change)
  • Experience in supporting individuals with mental health challenges and dual diagnoses
  • Able to connect with others through your personal experiences, fostering trust and motivation in those seeking help
