Job Title: Roadway and Bridge Inspector

RK&K is seeking a skilled Roadway and Bridge Inspector to join our Construction Engineering and Inspection team in the Asheville, NC area.

Job Summary

The ideal candidate will work independently with the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) and contractors, responsible for:

  • Inspecting various roadway and bridge projects within the region
  • Oversight of contractor's quality control operations
  • Quality Assurance sampling and testing
  • Completion of Daily Sampling and Testing Reports
  • Data input in Site Manager/LIMS
  • Daily communication with client, contractor, and field project personnel
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 1 year of prior experience providing inspection services
  • Trustworthiness and responsibility
  • A solid background in mathematics
  • Ability to read and follow test specifications
  • An excellent driving record
Preferred Qualifications

NCDOT Certifications, such as Erosion & Sediment Control Level II, Introduction to Asphalt Pavements, QMS Roadway Technician, and Concrete Field Technician, are highly desirable.
