Position Overview

DRMP's Construction Engineering Inspection (CEI) Division is actively seeking qualified Transportation Technicians and CEI Inspectors at various experience levels to enhance our team.

Role Responsibilities

The Transportation Technician plays a crucial role in executing intricate technical tasks related to field surveying and construction layout. Key responsibilities include:

  • Documenting daily contractor activities.
  • Preparing project field books and maintaining accurate records.
  • Conducting material sampling and testing.
  • Assisting in the preparation of final estimates.
  • Measuring distances to ensure construction accuracy.
  • Verifying levels, alignment, and elevation of construction work.
  • Monitoring ongoing work to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Collecting and preparing material samples for laboratory analysis.
  • Evaluating the quality of completed installations.
  • Tracking quantities of materials used or received.
  • Maintaining a daily log of construction and inspection activities.
Qualifications and Skills

Successful candidates will possess:

  • A high school diploma with a minimum of four years of experience in construction inspection, including at least one year in roadway or bridge construction.
  • An Associate's degree in Civil Engineering Technology along with two years of relevant experience, including one year in roadway construction inspection.
  • A valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
  • Completion of the Critical Structures Construction Issues Self-Study Course.
  • The ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.

Applicants should hold a comprehensive set of certifications, including:

  • QMS Roadway
  • Concrete
  • ABC Sampling
  • Borrow Pit Sampling
  • QMS Density
  • ABC Density
  • Conventional Density
  • EC Level 2
  • DOT Intermediate MOT
