Job Summary

The Locomotive Mechanic I/II/Hostler is responsible for performing scheduled inspections and mechanical repairs on locomotives in accordance with Federal Railroad Administration and Company guidelines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough inspections of locomotives to identify and repair mechanical issues.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, filter replacements, and other preventative measures.
  • Diagnose and repair complex mechanical issues, including electrical and hydraulic systems.
  • Collaborate with other technicians to ensure efficient and effective repair processes.
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance activities.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Texas Driver's License.
  • One year of experience in diesel mechanics or locomotive repair/maintenance.
  • Ability to read and comprehend safety manuals, operating and maintenance instructions, drawings, schematics, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds frequently.
