The Locomotive Mechanic I/II/Hostler is responsible for performing scheduled inspections and mechanical repairs on locomotives in accordance with Federal Railroad Administration and Company guidelines.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct thorough inspections of locomotives to identify and repair mechanical issues.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, filter replacements, and other preventative measures.
- Diagnose and repair complex mechanical issues, including electrical and hydraulic systems.
- Collaborate with other technicians to ensure efficient and effective repair processes.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance activities.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Texas Driver's License.
- One year of experience in diesel mechanics or locomotive repair/maintenance.
- Ability to read and comprehend safety manuals, operating and maintenance instructions, drawings, schematics, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds frequently.
