Job Summary
UNC Health Care is seeking a skilled Clinical Support Specialist to join our team in the Children's Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). As a vital member of our healthcare team, you will assist in providing exceptional post-operative care to pediatric patients. With a focus on delivering high-quality patient care and supporting our multidisciplinary team, this role offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of our young patients.

About the Role
This full-time position involves assisting professional caregivers in the delivery of patient care, transporting patients and equipment, setting up and maintaining patient rooms, and performing various clerical tasks. Key responsibilities include:
  1. Assisting physicians and other healthcare providers with routine examinations and procedures.
  2. Critically reviewing patient care documentation and reporting significant changes in patient condition to registered nurses or physicians.
  3. Providing administrative support, including organizing workload, greeting visitors, researching information, and transcribing physician orders.
  4. Performing clinical support tasks such as cleaning work areas, maintaining office equipment, and assisting with patient transportation.
  5. Providing direct personal care to patients, including bathing, dressing, feeding, and ambulation assistance.

Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
  • A High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) equivalent.
  • To be listed as a Nursing Assistant I by the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services.
  • To possess Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • To be fluent in verbal and written English language and capable of developing computer skills if needed.
