Position Overview:

The Risk Management division is seeking a seasoned Executive Underwriter specializing in large casualty risks. This role is pivotal in establishing and expanding a profitable portfolio within our organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and manage a profitable book of loss-sensitive casualty business.
  • Foster strong relationships with brokers and target accounts.
  • Collaborate with actuarial and collateral teams to create effective underwriting programs.
  • Drive qualified business flow from designated agencies.
  • Make independent underwriting decisions while maintaining thorough documentation.
  • Engage in ongoing training to enhance knowledge of products and services.
  • Participate in innovative projects aimed at product development and workflow improvements.

Travel Requirement: Approximately 20%

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree with over 10 years of primary casualty underwriting experience, particularly in workers' compensation.
  • Continuing education in the insurance field (e.g., AINS, ARM, CPCU) is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of Workers' Compensation, General Liability, and Automobile coverage.
  • Established broker relationships in key metropolitan areas to facilitate business growth.
  • Exceptional communication and analytical skills, along with a solid business acumen.
  • High energy and enthusiasm for expanding the Northeast territory.
  • Excellent organizational skills and a commitment to ethical business practices.
