As a key member of our leadership team, the Director of Revenue Cycle Management will play a critical role in driving the success of our organization. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, this individual will be responsible for overseeing the revenue cycle management relationship with our RCM vendor(s) and ensuring optimal revenue realization through collaboration and issue identification/resolution.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead change in a complex multi-layered organization, working with service line vice presidents, executive directors, physician practice leaders, physicians/APPs, finance, revenue cycle leaders, and others to drive revenue growth and improvement.
- Work closely with the COO and RCM vendor(s) to identify opportunities, challenges, and deficiencies, and escalate issues timely and appropriately to stakeholders for resolution.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve revenue cycle operations, including inpatient and outpatient billing and collections, insurance verification, cash posting, pre-collections, and patient relations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements, leveraging data and analytics to inform decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards, maintaining a strong focus on quality and patient safety.
- 10+ years of leadership experience in revenue cycle management, with a proven track record of driving revenue growth and improvement.
- Experience in large, complex, multi-facility organizations, with a strong understanding of multi-service line and global operations.
- Direct experience with all aspects of acute and physician practice, business office operations, including inpatient and outpatient billing and collections, insurance verification, cash posting, pre-collections, and patient relations.
- Experience with Cerner, IDX, and/or Meditech electronic medical record systems, with a strong understanding of revenue cycle management software and systems.
- Well-organized and disciplined, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects, and lead/participate in enterprise-wide projects and initiatives.
- Knowledgeable about the healthcare industry, with a strong understanding of managed care and revenue cycle management principles.
- Outstanding written and oral communication skills, with the ability to structure and effectively lead business meetings, and cultivate strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
