Kaiser Permanente is seeking a skilled Social Work Therapist to join our team in Ventura, California.

Job Summary

The Psychiatric Social Worker is a key member of our interdisciplinary team, providing direct assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and intervention to our members and their families. This role requires a deep understanding of psychopathology and the ability to provide timely and effective clinical treatment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and diagnose members' mental health needs, developing personalized treatment plans to address their unique challenges.
  • Provide individual, group, and family therapy sessions, utilizing evidence-based treatment modalities to promote positive outcomes.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care and support for our members.
  • Document all clinical encounters accurately and thoroughly, maintaining up-to-date records and reports.
  • Stay current with industry developments and best practices, participating in ongoing education and training to enhance clinical skills.
  • Conduct initial interviews with members, gathering and interpreting relevant information to inform treatment decisions.
  • Provide crisis intervention and support, rendering immediate guidance and therapy as needed.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of community resources and KP services, connecting members with relevant support and referrals.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development and implementation of best practices.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, or a related field.
  • Two years of post-graduate mental health therapy experience, with a focus on clinical social work.
  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (California) or equivalent licensure.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
  • Proficiency in various treatment modalities, including individual, group, and family therapy.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing multiple tasks and deadlines.
