Job Title: Information Governance Specialist

At Kinder Morgan, we are seeking an experienced Information Governance Specialist to join our team. As an Information Governance Specialist, you will be responsible for managing the successful implementation of Information Governance projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with key stakeholders to drive projects to completion on time and on budget
  • Responsible for gathering business and information governance requirements and translating into formal functional documentation
  • Develop and recommend IG process improvements as part of the requirements gathering process in collaboration with business users
  • Facilitate functional requirements gathering sessions and workshops with business stakeholders
  • Document as-is and to-be business processes and business requirements associated with those processes
  • Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders on the business side and IT
  • Analyze and document capabilities and requirements for new and existing processes
  • Develop and provide metrics on the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to management
  • Design business processes and workflows for the creation, classification, access, maintenance, compliance management, and destruction of electronic information
  • Design workflow and process strategies to improve business performance and oversee the implementation of revised processes and workflows
  • Assess KM's information governance program strategy and practices

Requirements:

  • Four year college degree, Business, Information Technology, Information Management discipline preferred, or a related technical field
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office products, SQL databases, SharePoint, and MS365
  • Experience with information security and privacy
  • Knowledge of and experience with, federal (US, Canada, Mexico) and state/provincial privacy records management, and information-security-related laws, regulations, self-regulatory standards, and industry best practices
  • Preferred experience seven to ten years of experience in similar job
  • Knowledge and experience working with structured, semi-structured, unstructured data, and data maps

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Industry certification such as CRM/CRA, IGP, PMP, and privacy-related certifications a plus
  • Proven Project Management skills
  • Analytical and creative problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize responsibilities
  • Ability to handle and maintain confidential information
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative and commitment to professional growth
  • Excellent organizational, planning, and time management skills
  • Work well independently as well as with teams
  • Interact with a wide variety of people with tact, courtesy, and professionalism

Working Conditions:

Based in Houston Headquarters with a Hybrid-Remote Pilot Program available along with a 9/80 Work Schedule.
