Position Summary:Turner & Townsend Heery is looking for a Senior Construction Project Manager specializing in aviation projects.
This role encompasses all responsibilities associated with a Senior Project Manager, with additional expertise required for the successful execution of aviation-related projects. The successful candidate will ensure alignment with LAWA's organizational objectives by coordinating activities among multiple project teams, focusing on strategic delivery and program management. Key performance indicators will be monitored to assess project progress, resource allocation, budget adherence, and risk management. Collaboration with LAWA leadership and project team leaders is essential to address challenges as they arise.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct regular site inspections to assess construction progress.
- Evaluate the status of completed work during reporting periods.
- Ensure work is conducted in accordance with approved plans and specifications.
- Review contractor payment requests and budget statuses.
- Assess subcontracts and related insurance documentation.
- Evaluate change orders for project modifications.
- Analyze monthly job cost reports and assess contingency adequacy.
- Review construction schedules and disbursement timelines.
- Examine lien waivers and other developer-submitted documentation.
- Prepare project status updates and recommend fund releases.
- Review contract documents for completeness and compliance with best practices.
- Analyze cost estimates and coordinate with the Cost Advisory group for accuracy.
- Provide feedback on construction agreements and subcontractor qualifications.
- Review various submitted documents including zoning approvals and building permits.
- Prepare Construction Risk Assessment Reports.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and analytical capabilities.
- Ability to deliver efficient and courteous service to clients.
- Proficient in presenting information effectively.
- In-depth understanding of financial principles and terminology.
- Skilled in complex calculations and budget forecasting.
- Experience in financial/business analysis and report preparation.
- Adept at solving complex problems and navigating diverse options.
- Expert analytical and quantitative skills with a track record of strategic solution development.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to interpret architectural drawings.
- Knowledge of project management software and construction practices.
- Familiarity with the permitting process and construction delivery methods.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- A minimum of fifteen (15) years of professional experience in construction or project management.
- At least five (5) years of experience managing complex projects with values exceeding $20M.
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of eight years in construction administration or related experience.
- Experience managing a project controls team.
- Experience in aviation and terminal projects.
- Strong mechanical background.
- Relevant professional licensure or certifications such as PE, RA, CCM, AAAE, LEED, PMP, or AICP.
