ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
As an integral part of the healthcare team, you will assist physicians in executing a variety of interventional radiology procedures. Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing patients and procedure rooms in accordance with established protocols and regulations.
- Reviewing procedure orders to ascertain necessary materials and supplies.
- Setting up and stocking procedure rooms with essential supplies and equipment prior to procedures.
- Conducting thorough patient preparations and documenting relevant information.
- Explaining procedures to patients, addressing their questions and concerns.
- Assisting in patient positioning and transfers.
- Inputting patient data into radiological systems.
- Supporting physicians during procedures while maintaining sterile techniques.
- Adhering to HIPAA standards to ensure patient confidentiality.
- Processing imaging data and archiving it according to policy.
- Contributing to the quality of patient care by supporting continuous quality improvement initiatives.
- Maintaining accurate medical records and ensuring compliance with policies.
- Conducting regular inspections of equipment to ensure proper functioning.
- Participating in training and orientation for new staff.
- Overseeing inventory management and supply ordering.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The role is situated within a healthcare facility characterized by controlled air temperature and moderate noise levels. You may encounter infectious materials and must be capable of lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 50 pounds, as well as performing patient transfers.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
A High School Diploma is required; an Associate's Degree is preferred, while a Bachelor's Degree is strongly encouraged. ARRT Certification and state licensure in radiology are mandatory.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
Candidates should possess a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience, with at least 1 year being preferable for those with ARRT Certifications. Proficiency in interventional equipment and sterile techniques is essential. Additionally, successful completion of BLS certification is required.
