Radiologic Technologist PRN

Baton Rouge General is seeking a skilled Radiologic Technologist PRN to join our team. As a Radiologic Technologist PRN, you will be responsible for performing radiographic exams, monitoring patient care quality, and evaluating efficiency as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform radiographic exams, including all modalities covered under the staff radiographer's license.
- Monitor and evaluate patient care quality and efficiency.
- Coordinate patient care activities in assigned treatment areas.
- Ensure patient scheduling, treatment, record keeping, calculations, and machine functions are maintained at an optimal level.
- Perform diagnostic radiographic procedures, including X-ray, CT, and MRI scans.
- Corroborate patient's clinical history with procedure, assuring that the proper procedure has been ordered.
- Prepare patient for procedure(s); providing instructions to obtain desired results, gain cooperation, and minimize anxiety.
- Apply principles of radiation protection to minimize risks to patient, self, and others.
- Position patient to best demonstrate anatomic area of interest, respecting patient ability and comfort.
- Evaluate images for technical quality, manipulate display parameters, and prepare patient record in electronic chart.
- Assume responsibility for assigned area and report equipment malfunction.
- Coordinate ordering of supplies for area of responsibility.
- Ensure all necessary lab work has been completed and meets Radiologists established protocols.
- Ensure the physician has completed all areas of the hospital-approved informed consent forms.
- Prepare, identify, and/or administer contrast media and/or medications as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
- Demonstrate courtesy and caring to other staff, patients, and physicians.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
- 1-2 years experience as a radiographer, preferred.
- Graduate of an accredited radiography program or equivalent required.
- Must be registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and hold a current LA state license to perform in the capacity of radiographer.
- Maintains knowledge of and adherence to all applicable HIPAA regulations.
- Maintains knowledge of and adherence to all applicable safety practices.
The physical demands of this job require Light Work, exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly. The job requires walking or standing to a significant degree, and/or pushing and/or pulling of materials.
