Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Histology Technician to join our team in the Renal Biopsy Laboratory. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of technical procedures to create microscopic slide preparations for diagnostic and prognostic analysis.
Key Responsibilities- Perform accessioning, specimen processing, and microtomy techniques to prepare specimens for microscopic examination.
- Apply technical staining procedures, including routine Hematoxylin and Eosin, special stains, immunofluorescence, immunohistochemical staining, and in situ hybridization.
- Participate in on-call rotations, including weekends as needed.
- Associate degree in a related field, such as medical laboratory technology or biology.
- Coursework in chemistry, biology, or medical laboratory technology, including 24 semester hours.
- Histology Technician certification by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP).
- Graduate of a NAACLS accredited program.
- Ability to accommodate scheduling adjustments, off shifts, holidays, on-call, and weekend work assignments.
