Job Summary

The University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior HR Business Partner to join our team. As a key member of our HR department, you will play a critical role in providing strategic guidance and support to our faculty and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as a trusted advisor and strategic partner to management and staff, providing expert guidance on employee relations, performance management, and conflict resolution.
  • Provide consultation and information to employees regarding conflict resolution and the Staff Dispute Resolution process.
  • Conduct initial intake assessments of all new employee relations cases and maintain and track employee relations activities in our case management system.
  • Perform HR outreach visits to departments for on-site problem-solving and provide internal customer service to HR staff for policy guidance and overlapping situations.
  • Review changes of employment status for employees to ensure compliance and lead the development and implementation of specific training programs for employees, managers, and supervisors.
  • Work closely with the Institutional Equity Office and Title IX officers as directed regarding complaints involving discrimination/harassment.
  • Assist with revisions to policies, procedures, and business processes and lead or support strategic projects.
  • Serve as a key member of HR organizational task forces and internal committees.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree and 36 months of professional HR experience in Employee Relations or a related field.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Zoom, and other frequently used document sharing applications.
  • Customer service skills and understanding of and commitment to diversity and inclusion principles and practices.
  • Ability to adapt workload to unexpected events and demands and in-depth knowledge of applicable local, State and Federal laws and regulations.
  • Strong skills in the areas of conflict resolution, problem-solving techniques, interviewing and investigating and analytical and organizational skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage/communicate sensitive and/or confidential information and engage adeptly with employees at all position levels across the University.
  • Absolute professionalism, tact, discretion and confidentiality and advanced composition and proofreading skills.
  • Must already have, or be able to obtain, an active USPS Security Clearance within 90 days of being hired.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 60+ months of progressive HR work experience and previous OU experience, particularly in Human Resources.
  • Previous experience directly related to positive discipline (i.e. performance management), coaching, and mentoring and working knowledge of PeopleSoft and/or Cornerstone.
  • Previous experience working with Talent Recruiting Vendors / Staffing Agencies.
