Job Overview

The Co-op School is seeking a Director of Finance and Operations who will play a pivotal role in managing our financial and operational resources. This position encompasses oversight of the Business Office, Human Resources, Facilities Management, and Safety and Security functions.


Key Responsibilities:
Financial Management:
  • Formulate annual budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial strategies.
  • Oversee profit and loss statements, monitor resource utilization, and identify areas for efficiency improvements.
  • Deliver financial presentations to the Board and implement investment strategies.
  • Manage tuition billing, accounts payable, accounting practices, and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Enrollment regarding financial aid opportunities.
  • Guarantee effective risk management and appropriate insurance coverage.
Human Resources:
  • Ensure adherence to the Collective Bargaining Agreement and relevant legal standards.
  • Oversee benefits administration, including health, dental, insurance policies, and retirement plans.
Facilities and Security:
  • Establish and uphold environmental, health, and maintenance standards.
  • Ensure facilities are prepared for daily operations and special events.
  • Supervise building maintenance, vendor agreements, and campus development projects.
  • Cultivate relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
Leadership:
  • Lead with empathy and professionalism, prioritizing community experience.
  • Manage and mentor team members, providing constructive feedback.
  • Act as a strategic business partner, offering proactive solutions to operational challenges.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree (MBA, MPA, JD) preferred.
  • Proven commitment to equitable practices in financial and operational leadership.
  • Experience with technical projects and interpersonal interactions.
  • Supervisory experience is advantageous.
