Job Summary

Amergis is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate School Aide to join our team in an Early Childhood Classroom setting. As a School Aide, you will work closely with students who require instructional and behavioral assistance, providing support services to help them achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement IEP objectives, including math, reading, speech, and independent skills, in a one-on-one or group setting.
  • Facilitate teacher-directed learning activities, such as lesson plans, worksheets, and reinforcement systems.
  • Assist students in general education classes and communicate pertinent information to teachers.
  • Accompany students during recess, lunch, and community experiences.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to strict confidentiality requirements.
  • Assist with activities of prescribed programs, including those written by related service personnel.
  • Support students in developing independent skills through self-care activities.
  • Participate in behavior management techniques under the direction of the teacher and/or other school professionals.
  • Assist with clerical duties, including making stimuli, copies, and maintaining a clean and organized classroom.
  • Report changes in client status or as directed by IHP/IEP.
Requirements
  • Comply with all relevant professional standards of practice.
  • Participate and complete Amergis' Competency program when applicable.
  • Hold current CPR certification if applicable.
  • Meet all federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Complete new hire training as applicable to the job site.
  • Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirements.
  • Possess strong communication skills and proficiency in the English language.
  • Be computer proficient.
  • Be at least 18 years of age.
