Internal Medicine Physician Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Internal Medicine Physician to join our team at NorthShore University HealthSystem.

About the Role

This is a full-time, outpatient position that offers a comprehensive benefits package, including market-competitive compensation, malpractice coverage, and a range of other perks.

Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality patient care by interviewing, examining, and treating patients in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Educate patients on wellness, prevention, and early detection by providing materials and resources.
  • Share healthcare duties with other physicians to ensure availability at all times.
  • Determine referrals and level of urgency for follow-up appointments.
  • Exercise final medical judgment in all issues of healthcare.
  • Prescribe medical treatment and clinical drugs as needed.
  • Order studies, tests, and ancillary services as required.
  • Document all services in patient medical records.
  • Review long-term cases that require ongoing medical attention.
  • Consult with Medical Director and other professionals as needed.
  • Participate in quality improvement, management, continuing education, and other patient care programs.
  • Oversee mid-level medical staff and nursing clinical staff.
  • Assist in resolving complaints, requests, and inquiries from patients.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient information according to federal guidelines and regulations.
  • Participate in teaching sessions for other hospital and medical staff, residents, and medical students.
Requirements
  • Illinois Medical License or License Pending.
  • Completed Internal Medicine residency and board certified/eligible by the American Board of Family Medicine.
