As a Quality Assurance Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in supporting and enforcing the quality management system to ensure compliance with internal, industry, vendor, and customer standards. You will serve as the primary contact for addressing Quality Assurance matters with both internal and external stakeholders, ensuring adherence to relevant requirements, including non-conformance analysis and the implementation of effective corrective actions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize methodologies such as Voice of Customer (VOC), Measurement Systems Assessment (MSA), Failure Mode Analysis (FMEA), Cause and Effect (C&E), and Control Parameter Management (CPM) to prioritize actions.
  • Conduct quality assessments of processes to verify compliance with specified customer requirements, specifications, and quality performance expectations.
  • Evaluate suppliers to ensure adherence to stated requirements, specifications, and quality performance standards.
  • Review processes to confirm compliance with documented Quality Management System (QMS) requirements and update QMS documentation as necessary.
  • Resolve non-conformities, ensuring appropriate customer resolutions and vendor corrective actions are implemented.
  • Maintain a high level of service for both internal and external customers while overseeing supplier performance.
  • Investigate and rectify customer issues and complaints, including driving supplier improvements.
  • Analyze, compile, review, and regularly report on customer and vendor quality metrics, such as First Time Quality performance and internal/external defect rates.
  • Monitor and analyze vendor returns and holds to ensure the quality of all purchased components.
  • Schedule and conduct internal audits, communicating results with relevant team members.
  • Coordinate customer or vendor audits as required.
  • Review and approve requests for new customers or vendors as necessary.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to achieve desired business outcomes.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial, Structural, Systems, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • 3-5 years of experience in distribution, manufacturing, or supply chain management.
  • Experience with aerospace quality systems is preferred.
  • Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to interpret engineering technical data, such as manufacturing or part drawings, to guide cross-functional teams.
  • Significant experience in direct interaction with customers and suppliers.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with strong problem-solving, organizational, project management, and decision-making abilities.
  • Thorough understanding of internal and external customer requirements with a keen attention to detail in resolving findings.
  • Knowledge of aerospace quality standards.
  • Proficient in processing and effectively communicating information using MS 365 Suite of tools (i.e., PowerPoint, Excel, and Word).
