Job Summary:

You will work closely with our team of engineers and designers to ensure that all projects are completed efficiently and accurately.

Responsibilities:

* Perform complex engineering tasks and difficult engineering work efficiently and accurately
* Extract engineering information from CAD drawings
* Prepare engineering computations, material quantity takeoffs, estimates, surveys, and designs
* Prepare detailed requisitions for equipment and materials
* Review supplier drawing submittals and perform technical bid analyses
* Prepare and issue specifications, datasheets, and other construction documents
* Provide technical guidance to CAD Drafters, Designers, and lower-level Engineers working on the same project
* May be required to provide the seal and signature of the professional engineer, as appropriate, ensuring compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, and ordinances

Requirements:

* BS Degree in Electrical Engineering required
* 8+ years of related work experience
* Active PE (Professional Engineer) registration in CA required, PE in another state acceptable, but must be able to obtain a CA PE within 3 months
* Experience in low voltage and medium voltage heavy industrial design, substation design, transmission, and distribution line design, and ETAP modeling required
* Working knowledge of applicable Industry Codes and Standards (e.g. NEC, ASME, ANSI, ISA, ASHRAE, IEEE, ASTM, NFPA)
* Proficiency in utilizing software packages typically associated with Electrical Engineering is required
* Experience working with 480V and up
* Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team of engineers and designers on multiple, concurrently executed projects
* Good organizational and communication skills
* Expresses ideas concisely and clearly, both orally and in writing
* Accepts responsibility for own actions and honors commitments
* Willingness and ability to travel to client offices, and project sites for meetings, performing inspections and walk downs, and to assist field personnel and construction team with Electrical technical issues
* Proficient in the use of office personal computers, office networks, and the Microsoft Office suite of software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
* US Citizenship or Permanent Residency required
