Position Summary: The Building Automation Sales Executive will cultivate relationships with executives in government, healthcare, and institutional sectors, as well as with owners and operators of commercial and industrial properties, to drive sales in these key markets.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage an assigned portfolio of accounts, developing comprehensive client profiles, strategic account plans, and service delivery schedules.
  • Position Boland as the preferred partner for control solutions in the marketplace by fostering strong client relationships.
  • Create and execute sales strategies for client accounts and territories to identify and prioritize sales opportunities.
  • Communicate effectively with sales management regarding issues, goals, and objectives for all assigned accounts.
  • Engage with decision-makers responsible for the procurement and maintenance of building automation systems.
  • Follow a structured sales process that includes targeting, qualifying, understanding client needs, presenting solutions, and closing deals.
  • Identify opportunities for system enhancements that contribute to clients' business success and address their challenges.
  • Inspire clients to take action by presenting a compelling vision based on successful project outcomes.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members, including sales colleagues, project developers, project managers, and client service representatives.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field is preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years of sales experience in the HVAC or controls industry is required.
  • A valid driver's license and proof of vehicle insurance are necessary.
  • Strong mathematical skills to calculate discounts, commissions, and other financial metrics.
  • Ability to interpret and analyze business documents and present information effectively to various audiences.
  • Experience in developing new markets for a growing business and fostering long-term, value-based partnerships is preferred.

Work Environment:

  • Mobility within the office and at job sites is essential.
  • Willingness to travel locally as needed, with frequent site visits and the ability to climb ladders.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
