We are recognized for our innovative clinical methodologies, exceptional training programs, and for employing some of the most skilled professionals in community behavioral health.

We are currently in search of a knowledgeable Housing Support Specialist who possesses excellent counseling abilities, experience working with the homeless population, and familiarity with entitlements.


Key Responsibilities:


• Cultivate effective working relationships with local landlords, housing authorities, housing advocates, and DMH to assist individuals in securing housing.

• Provide educational resources to agency staff regarding housing subsidies, entitlements, and various housing opportunities available to individuals.

• Develop and monitor all housing subsidies allocated to Eliot clients, encompassing all public subsidies and contract rental assistance.

• Collaborate with ACCS teams to aid individuals in obtaining federal and state subsidies for safe and permanent housing.

• Partner with DMH licensors to create properties that qualify for DMH subsidies, ensuring they meet the needs of Eliot clients.


• Assist in housing searches by engaging with staff and clients to review benefits, search for listings, complete applications, utilize online resources, and assess individual needs for subsidies.

• Ensure that all services provided are culturally and linguistically appropriate, which may involve accessing and utilizing diverse resources to meet client needs.

Work Schedule:
Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 4 PM


Eliot is dedicated to identifying and dismantling barriers that hinder individuals with marginalized racial identities from realizing their full employment potential, assuming leadership roles, or fully engaging at all levels within the workplace.

Qualifications:

Skills:

• Experience with the target population: Intermediate

• Computer Software Proficiency: Intermediate

• Communication Skills: Intermediate

• Administrative Competence: Intermediate

Education:

• Required: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Psychology

Licenses & Certifications:

• Required: MA Driver's License

Experience:

• Required: Minimum of 1 year working with adults experiencing severe and persistent mental illness.

• Required: Minimum of 1 year related housing experience.
