Position Overview

Salary: $17.00 per hour

We are currently seeking dedicated individuals to provide support and care for adolescent boys in a residential setting.

This role is ideal for those looking to make a meaningful impact in the lives of young individuals. We welcome applicants with minimal experience who are enthusiastic and passionate about helping others.

The primary responsibility of the staff is to ensure a safe and nurturing environment for the boys. Staff will assist in guiding interactions, implementing behavioral management strategies, and facilitating therapeutic, recreational, and social skills development. Staff members are expected to serve as positive role models and adhere to established standards of practice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement Positive Behavior Support strategies for effective behavior management.
  • Administer medication as required.
  • Maintain accurate daily communication logs and documentation.
  • Provide transportation for residents to various activities, including medical appointments and recreational outings.
  • Prepare meals and assist with household cleaning and maintenance.
  • Support residents in completing their assigned chores.
  • Utilize positive behavior supports to assist residents in managing their behaviors.
  • Ensure adherence to house rules and schedules to promote consistency.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to establish strong boundaries while demonstrating care for children in challenging situations.
  • Skills in de-escalating situations involving dysregulated children.
  • Understanding of basic behavior modification principles and techniques.
  • Demonstrated cultural competency and appreciation for diversity.
  • Ability to recognize and respond appropriately to behavioral challenges.

Qualifications:

  • Reliable transportation is essential.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is required.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in childcare or related fields is necessary.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Applicants must be at least 25 years of age.
  • A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are required.
  • Experience in crisis intervention and trauma-informed care is preferred.
  • Must be able to obtain a Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card.
  • CPR and First Aid Certification are required (assistance in obtaining certification is available).
  • Prevention and Support Certification is required (training will be provided).
