Job Title: DSP Driver - Residential Care Specialist

At Woodward Foundation for the Disabled, we are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate DSP Driver - Residential Care Specialist to join our team. This is a safety-sensitive position that requires a strong commitment to providing exceptional care and support to our members in our group homes and DTA.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Resident Care: Provide for the safety, emotional, and physical needs of all residents, ensuring they are clean, well-groomed, and dressed appropriately for the season and environmental conditions.
  2. Driving: Drive vehicles following our driving policies and ensure compliance with insurance requirements, complete daily vehicle checklists, and maintain a clean driving record.
  3. Home Maintenance: Clean the home, including all areas and resident bedrooms, and ensure all required documentation is completed before the end of the shift.
  4. Company Responsibilities: Be flexible with hours worked and location, ensure compliance with Article 9, Prevention and Support, and maintain a Class 1 Finger Print Clearance Card.

Requirements:

  • High School or Equivalent
  • Must meet age requirement to be a driver for the organization (21yrs minimal)
  • Must have a clean driving record and be approved
  • Flexible hours to work times as well as work locations to assist with staff coverage if needed
  • Reliable transportation to work at any location

  • Ability to work as a team member
  • Adaptability & Flexibility to work times as well as work locations to assist with staff coverage if needed
  • Ability to positively interact with residents, their families, and administrative staff
  • Recognize and be responsive to the needs of the residents
  • Ability to maintain proprietary and resident information confidentially
  • Ability to maintain a calm, non-defensive, supportive attitude during crisis or potential crisis situation
  • Proficient verbal and written communication in English and ability to do so with tact
