About the Role

The Field Service Technician will play a critical role in supporting our on-site Hydrogen gas production facility. This individual will be responsible for the maintenance and servicing of production, compression, dispensing, transportation, and/or storage equipment. Key responsibilities include reporting any breakdown events, parts ordering, and preventative care.

This position requires a person with excellent technical skills, as well as strong communication, interpersonal, and logical skills. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, with a focus on hydrogen systems.

Responsibilities:
  • Maintenance and service of electromechanical equipment at customer sites.
  • Performing diagnostics, troubleshooting, and evaluations to maintain optimum efficiency and uptime of the equipment.
  • Performing specialized service procedures, including field retrofits and software and hardware upgrades to existing equipment.
  • Providing on-call and emergency support service to customers as required.
  • May require troubleshooting and maintenance of high-pressure hydrogen systems and/or components, 480VAC, flammable, high pressure gas fueling and/or electrical systems.
  • Maintaining ongoing communication with customer personnel and hydrogen suppliers regarding aftermarket support of equipment.
  • Providing regular feedback to management regarding overall site performance and field maintenance issues and activities.
  • Completing administrative duties & documentation, including incident reports, service logs, inventory maintenance and site and system documentation amongst other things.
  • Exhibiting and enforcing safety procedures in the field or customer sites.
  • Travel as required for business needs; expected to drive safely and to adhere to all traffic laws.
  • Always represent OneH2 in a professional manner and in all interactions.
Requirements and Skills:
  • Preferred: two to three or more years of direct experience in mechanical and electrical troubleshooting.
  • Formal training and education may be considered in place of direct experience.
  • A class A CDL with hazmat endorsement will be required within the first year of employment.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis unassisted.
  • Knowledge of lift truck operation and applications is highly preferred.
  • General mechanical aptitude is required.
  • Proficiency in computer and software systems relevant to the position, including but not limited to Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook, is necessary.
  • Dynamic interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with diverse audiences and stakeholders at all levels.
